Age of Explorers
Age of Explorers
Our Age of Explorers coffee is of the catuai variety and has had a natural anaerobic process. We have roasted it light resulting in a very aromatic profile and tasting notes of vanilla, strawberry & candied orange.
It is sourced from Finca Las Rosas in Ocotepeque, Honduras, where the green coffee beans are produced by Jaime Urias and his family, where they grow in an altitude of 1250-1280 meters above sea level.
The farm is Rain Forest Alliance certfied, and the coffee by Finca Las Rosas is FTO certified. It’s a delicious, fruity bean that we have a lot of respect for when we roast it.
The name Age of Explorers is inspired by a small bridge in Lagos, Portugal, that used to be connected to a fortress. It’s located in a region deeply connected to the Age of Discoveries, a period during the 15th and 16th centuries when Portuguese explorers set out on maritime expeditions that changed the world.
With Pontes we see ourselves as explorers. We want our coffee to build bridges between people and with this debut roast we are just in the beginning stage, an age of exploration and discovery.
